Channel on Jalan Cempaka Putih Tengah XXI Normalized

The Cempaka Putih Sub-District Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA) Task Force, Central Jakarta, normalized the channel on Jalan Cempaka Putih Tengah XXI, RT 05/06, Cempaka Putih Timur Urban Village. The work, which has been ongoing since last week, is targeted for completion this September.

Cempaka Putih Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Subandi stated the 140-meter-long channel was being normalized, as the sheet pile had been damaged and collapsed, thus blocking the flow of water and triggering flooding around the location.

"This is done to follow up on residents' aspirations through Musrenbang 2023," he said, Thursday (7/26).

Channel Normalization on Jalan Kampung Bali XX to Complete Soon

He explained it was conducted by deepening the channel from 50 centimeters to 6 centimeters, and replacing the channel material which was originally cement plaster with U-Ditch concrete measuring 60x60 centimeters.

"The work stage is still in the excavation process to deepen the channel," he explained.

The work involves 20 personnel every day and is predicted to take up to three months.

"This is targeted for completion this September," he concluded.

RW 06 Cempaka Putih Resident, Dani hoped that the channel could anticipate flooding in the rainy season.

"Hopefully, it can be completed on time," he hoped.
